Last night, for instance, I was just getting into a great writing grove, nearly at 3k words for the evening, but it got to be 11pm and I needed to TRY to get up at 6am. I'm one of those that pretty much need 8 hours of sleep (which those chances were already shot)... it betters my mood and functioning skills. It was such a struggle to make myself step away from the computer and go to bed, then a struggle to stop thinking about my story and fall asleep.
But when that alarm went off this morning, guess who was angry she didn't try to go to bed sooner?
What about you? Do you stay up too late to get things done? Or are you one of those... morning people? ;)

I'm more of a day person if that's possible my husbands a night person its amazing we even see each other.
ReplyDeleteI am a true early bird. Although inspiration sometimes strikes at night, it's usually a bad thing b/c my brain will keep churning for hours and hours, making sleep impossible. Sometimes, though, I tell myself it's worth it when I get great ideas!
ReplyDeleteI used to be a morning person, but now I'm not AT ALL. I definitely get my best work done at night.
ReplyDeleteI am too! I get my best writing done after midnight, which only gives me like a two-hour window to get anything done before I collapse from exhaustion. But I just can't write when the sun's up. That's the time for other stuff. :)
ReplyDeleteNight person here :) Love doing work at night!!
ReplyDeleteLove hearing that I'm not alone! (though I'm sorry for us!)
ReplyDeleteOwl here. *waves* If only the world slept in the afternoons...

Yes, I too seem to write best at night when everyone else is in bed. I do try to work in a nap. Here in Texas, it's too hot to do much of anything between 3 and 6, so I try to sneak in a 20 min cat nap.
ReplyDeleteYes, the quiet of our house is what keeps me awake. I'm not a stay-out-late person, either, but I can stay up late in front of my computer. :) I hear you! I have many morning-time regrets! LOL!
