I promise I'm not a robot

Seriously these word verification things have gotten ridiculously hard to read. Is it just me? I'm not going to lie, I failed the test like four times on a comment the other day! I've got to REALLY want to post that comment to try a second and third time. Sometimes I see the word verification and just close out of it. I promise I'm not a robot, but those things kill my patience. I used to have the verification here on my own blog but recently removed it. I don't currently have a huge issue with spammers to need it, so you're welcome. :)

In other news, I surely wish a robot could write my query for me. Okay. I'm done complaining about it. It's part of the process, I know. It would just be nice if it came a little more naturally to me. In other other news, I'm working on round three of revisions! I'm actually really excited about these new changes inspired by my first beta's notes.

How's your WIP coming? Are you revising too? Querying? Still working on that first draft? Tossing around a Shiny New Idea?? Are you a robot?

  2. I wrote a post about this the other day. I've decided to just go with the flow on word verification and turn it into a game. Will I win by getting the right combination of letters, or will I lose? Oh the little things I do to amuse myself. LOL

  3. I hate the new word verification. I don't know why people use it.

  4. I'm not a fan of word verification. It adds extra steps for people who want to comment. Blogger puts all the spam comments in a special spam comment box that I can just delete it.

  7. With the A to Z Challenge approaching, we're doing our best to tell people to turn it off.

  8. I used to not really care about word verification, but it's getting to be a little much. I'm pretty sure I have had comments the I've left places disappear because I didn't see the word verification pop up and left the page.

  9. I have no patience for verifications either. That's why I don't have it on my blog. If I really have to, I usually just keep refreshing until I get a short word because I hate when those long ones appear :-)

    Good luck with your query!

  10. I hate it too! I rarely get it right the first time. Drives me nuts.

if your query letter is driving you nuts, have you tried Agent Query Connect - there's usually a lot of good brains available to help everyone out. I've got some great advice over there!

  11. there's a mutual agreement around the blogger not to use Word Verification since it's Sathan's work. Those who use it should not be visited or commented :)

  12. I removed verification. I don't even know why it's become so difficult. They're hard to read and two words instead of one.

    Robots have always frightened me.

    Have a great weekend.

  13. I've had word verification turned off for a long while now and Blogger has captured any spam I got. I agree with how difficult it's become and I hope more people will turn it off. But having said that, I still attempt to comment on verification blogs, just not as often because it adds time onto my set aside "commenting" time.

Congrats on your revision! Hope you can conquer the query soon. :)

  15. You are not alone! I absolutely hate it. I understand the need for it, but they need to make it easier to read.

  16. I really hate those, too! I say we band together to rid them from our blogs forever! Muahahahaha! (If you want to send me your query sometime, I'd love to try to help. I'm not the world's best query writer, but I could try....)
